What Does a 200 Thread Count Mean Here?

The 200 is counted per square inch, which equals 801 threads per 10cm.

Some brands quote the 10cm figure, so the number looks far higher for the same fabric — always check the unit.

At 200 per inch² in 100% cotton, the hand feel is soft and slightly lofty rather than slick, and the fabric stands up well to the frequent washing a child's bedding gets.

How Set Formats and Sizes Line Up

There are four formats: a full bedding set (fitted sheet, duvet cover and pillowcases), fitted sheet with pillowcases, duvet cover on its own, and printed summer quilt.

Fitted sheets follow mattress width — 3ft, 4ft, 4.5ft and 5ft — while duvet covers and quilts follow the duvet itself, in Single (64"x88") and Queen (88"x88").

Some designs offer a bundle price on fitted sheet with pillowcases plus a printed summer quilt, which works out better than buying the two separately.

Durability & Care

  • With printed bedding, the job is protecting the print. Wash inside out at or below 40°C with a mild detergent, and avoid bleach or detergents containing optical brighteners.
  • Dry inside out in the shade rather than in direct sun, which is what fades a print fastest.
  • Printed summer quilts are machine washable; for everything else, follow the care label.
